Restoring Hope School of Biblical Counseling

What is a Biblical Counselor?

A Biblical Counselor is a trained professional who provides counseling services grounded in the teachings and values of the Bible. Biblical Counselors help individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges through a Christian worldview, guiding them toward healing, restoration, and transformation. They integrate biblical wisdom with counseling techniques to address emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns, always with the goal of reflecting Christ’s love and truth.

The Restoring Hope Difference

Restoring Hope School of Biblical Counseling offers a unique learning environment that emphasizes practical, real-life applications of Scriptural wisdom. Students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through our teaching clinic, where they work under the mentorship of seasoned biblical counselors. This enables them to refine their counseling skills and prepare for successful careers in ministry and counseling, rooted in a deep understanding of both theology and pastoral care.

Program Overview

The RH School of Biblical Counseling will, God willing, begin offering courses in Fall 2027. These in-person courses will cover a range of topics, with specialized tracks in Theology and Biblical & Pastoral Counseling. This program is designed to equip future counselors with the theological foundation and practical skills necessary for effective ministry.

Courses & Curriculum

We will offer a robust curriculum of advanced theological studies alongside specialized counseling courses, such as:

  • Biblical Interpretation and Counseling Techniques
  • Christ in the Old Testament
  • Christian Ethics and Counseling
  • Trauma, Sin, and the Knowledge of Good and Evil
  • Theology of Redemption and Restoration

In addition to the foundational courses, our advanced doctoral offerings explore the intersection of theology, psychology, and spiritual formation. These include courses such as:

  • The Spirit and the Serpent: Synthesis of Pneumatology and Spiritual Warfare
  • The Meta-Theology of Worship
  • Divine and Human Emotions: A Comparative Study

Our curriculum integrates Scriptural study, practical counseling techniques, and spiritual formation, ensuring that students are prepared to serve their communities with wisdom, integrity, and compassion.

Course Delivery

Courses will be offered in-person at our campus, providing students with a collaborative and immersive learning environment. The school also plans to incorporate hybrid learning options in the future, enabling students from diverse locations to participate in our programs while maintaining the hands-on experience essential to Biblical Counseling.

Enrollment and Application

Restoring Hope School of Biblical Counseling will open enrollment for its inaugural in-person classes in February 2027, with classes beginning in Fall 2027. We invite all who feel called to counsel others through a biblical lens to apply. Our faculty members are dedicated to mentoring the next generation of biblical counselors, providing the guidance and support necessary for students to succeed in their calling.

Our Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your guidance and wisdom. We pray for all those who feel called to be Biblical Counselors, that they may anchor themselves in Your Word, always learning and growing in the truth of Christ. Lord, let their hearts be taught by those who have been humbled in Your name, so that they may not only walk faithfully in their own journey but also help others walk closer to You. Teach us how to leave the ninety-nine to serve and build up the one, just as You have shown us in Your love for the lost.

May each counselor be a vessel of Your grace, speaking truth with compassion and leading others into the light of redemption through Biblical Counseling. We ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who leads and sustains us in all things. Amen.

Meet the Biblical Counselors

Jeffrey Gross
Ph.D.,Th.D., M.S., M.A., SAC-IT, CPSS, Lead Pastor, Board President, Restoring Hope Ministries

About seven years ago, my journey took a pivotal turn. Lost and devoid of purpose, I encountered the profound love of Jesus, reminiscent of the transformation described in 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.” From the depths of addiction, I was graced with a second chance, an opportunity to dedicate my life to serving God, who reigns supreme.

In this journey, reminiscent of Joseph’s story in Genesis 50:20, where what was meant for harm, God used for good, my life was illuminated by a divine spark. This spark not only transformed me but rebirthed me into a new being in Christ. Through this metamorphosis, I have been blessed immensely, in ways that still astound me.

The Lord guided me to pursue an academic path rich in spiritual and psychological wisdom. I obtained a Bachelor of Theology and a degree in Christian Counseling, followed by a Master’s and a Doctorate in the same field. My heart is also drawn towards the intricate study of Biblical Hebrew and Greek, and I have completed my Th.D. Concurrently, I pursued secular education, earning a B.S in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, followed by an M.S. in Clinical Psychology, and currently, I am in the candidate phase of my Psy.D. program at The Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology.

All these achievements, as stated in Psalm 115:1, are not for my glory but for the Lord’s: “Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” In this journey, I am but a humble instrument in God’s grand design, earnestly striving to align with His will rather than my own.

I am blessed to be a father and a husband, my family being my stronghold and source of encouragement in challenging times. In our ministry, my wife, Nina, and I have been privileged to witness the mighty works of God. We envision Restoring Hope Ministries not just impacting one community, but many. In the next five years, God willing, we hope to see over 50 disciples serving under this ministry, all for His glory. Our prayer is that our actions and behaviors reflect our deep obedience and faith in Him, embodying James 2:18 – “I will show you my faith by my deeds.”

In this ministry, we stand as witnesses to the transformative power of God’s love, hoping to inspire and restore hope in the hearts of many.
